Betrayal. Sacrifice. Survival.
Welcome to the Extinction Trials.
In Stormchaser and Lincoln’s ruined world, the only way to survive is to risk everything. To face a contest more dangerous than anyone can imagine. And they will do anything to win.
But in a land full of monsters – human and reptilian – they can’t afford to trust anyone. Perhaps not even each other…
This book! When books are described as being like another book, I usually find they either aren’t at all or they’re a poor imitation of said books. The Extinction Trials was described as Hunger Games vs Jurassic Park and it REALLY WAS, in the best way.
Not too wordy with the ‘world building’, a lot of that was left to the imagination, which was absolutely fine because That left more room for dinosaur action!
The guarded relationships between the characters, allies turned enemies and ‘every man for himself’ feeling made for gripping reading.
The author mentioning certain dinosaurs having feathers, a more recent discovery that is usually ignored in favour of portraying a more “Jurassic Park” style dinosaur, made me love The Extinction Trials even more.
I can’t wait for book 2, Exile!
