Review
Thank you so much to Hachette Children’s Books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Oi Duck Billed Platypus is the next book in the Oi Frog series, and it’s just as wonderful as the first books! Genuinely funny for both kids and adults, this book continues the rhyming fun, but presents Frog with a bunch of animals with names that are almost impossible to rhyme with! But, we all know Frog is good at this rhyming game, and he’s not about to admit he can’t find anywhere for these funny named animals to sit.
The combination of the eager to please dog, exasperated cat and clever frog make for brilliant characters, that are easy to bring to life with different voices, when reading aloud to kids.
The colourful and caricature type illustrations appeal to kids in a big way and really add to the fun, crazy aspect of this book series.
My 2.5 year old daughter adores these books and refused to allow this one to go back on the bookshelf after story-time. She had to sleep with it in her bed every night for a week, which I think amounts to high praise indeed 😄
