My wrap up for February
That’s February done and dusted! I can’t believe two months of this year have already gone by. I read 13 books in February, 3 of which were audiobooks. That’s quite a lot less than I usually read but I’ve been trying to give myself permission not to push myself so hard to read as many books! 😅
My favourites for this month were:
Lock the Doors: A super twisty, psychological thriller that I could not put down!
The Woodlander: A beautiful adventure story, told with a fairytale vibe and plenty of magic!
Stalking Claremont: A real life account of the Claremont Serial Killer in the 90’s from Western Australia and his eventual capture. This was just plain scary, but I loved filling in pieces of the story I didn’t already know. I knew the killer and grew up hanging out at a friend’s house next door to where he lived at the time. His capture 20 years later was a shock to say the least, so I knew I needed to read this book as soon as I saw it.
Game Changer: I was so excited when the publisher sent me this one! I LOVE Neal Shusterman and this one was no exception! Another ‘make you think’ book in typical Shusterman style, although this one revolves around a football player, you don’t need to be interested in football to read it!
Tales from the Hinterland: This was such a perfectly creepy, atmospheric journey into the stories of the Hinterland. We were introduced to some of the characters in The Hazel Wood, but here we discover their original tales.
A Court of Silver Flames: Ahhh I loved this book SO much. I have been SO DONE with the ‘naive girl needs big strong man to introduce her to sex’ trope and ACOSF thankfully not only didn’t fall to that, but grabbed that trope and smacked it right in the face, like it should be 😄 I liked Nesta before this book but now she is one of my favourite characters of all!
As usual, clicking on the pics below will take you to my reviews (Some reviews may not be live on my blog yet as I post them on the book’s release date due to publisher’s requests, so keep your eye on my blog for those reviews in March) 🙂
Let me know in the comments what your favourite read was for February!
