My wrap up for March
How have the first three months of the year gone already!? My daughter has already finished her first term of Kindergarten and the time seems to be flying past so fast. It’s Easter here tomorrow and we’ve got an egg hunt planned (even though the weather here in Perth has NOT received the message that it’s the second month of Autumn and is carrying on like it’s summer with 35C days. So, we might be having a melted egg hunt, but whatever, it’s still chocolate. I read 15 books in March and found myself a new favourite series! (Darkwood)
My favourites for this month were:
Gilded Serpent (Dark Shores #3): I have loved this whole series so much and if you haven’t started it yet, you can read EITHER book 1 or 2 book two first! Action packed, with brilliant characters and vicious enemies, this series is an intense ride!
Waking Romeo: A futuristic, time travel focused, Romeo and Juliet retelling that I absolutely loved! This was so unique and fun!
Bridge of Souls (Cassidy Blake #3): This atmospheric ghostly series has been amazing. I love anything by V.E. Schwab, so if you do too, make sure you pick up the Cassidy Blake series, starting with City of Ghosts!
House of Hollow: This one was unsettling, creepy and downright scary at times, but it’s one of the best dark fairytale type books I’ve ever read!
The Darkwood Series: Darkwood, Such Big Teeth & The Glass Coffin: A new favourite! For lovers of comedic fantasy, like Terry Pratchett, well known fairytales are turned on their head and skilfully woven into this hilarious series. I even found a new favourite character in there – a sassy loveable spider who likes to wear hats 👌
The Prison Healer: An intense, thrilling ride, set in a horrifying prison, where a girl who shouldn’t even be there will stake her life on a set of elemental trials.
The Dilemma: An absolutely heartbreaking book about secrets and the split second decisions we make, that can tear us apart. If you’re looking for a book that will absolutely make you cry, look no further.
The Outlaws Scarlett & Browne: A super fun outlaw book, set in futuristic London, but with the feel of the wild west! Incredibly witty and fun with exceptional characters!
Morning Star (Red Rising #3): I’m still working my way through this series on audiobook but I’m loving it so much!
As usual, clicking on the pics below will take you to my reviews (Some reviews may not be live on my blog yet as I post them on the book’s release date due to publisher’s requests, so keep your eye on my blog for those reviews in April) 🙂
